Our Story

Benchtop Cabinetry & Joinery was founded by Joe with the vision to produce both fitted and freestanding high quality bespoke furniture. In 2014 Joe set up business under the name avie & oak making furniture from his home workshop. As the business has grown and Joe’s focus has been honed to larger bespoke pieces he decided that it was time for the business name to better represent the work he was doing, so in 2021 Joe rebranded the business and Benchtop Cabinetry & Joinery was born.

Benchtop Cabinetry & Joinery is a small family run business. Joe designs, makes, and fits all the furniture and is supported behind the scenes by his wife Natalie. At the heart of Benchtop is the love for both wood as a material and the environment that trees give us. By using only sustainable sourced materials from licenced suppliers and using eco friendly finishes benchtop are a very low impact environmentally friendly choice for making your bespoke furniture.
